Who’s Who

Our Minister

Rev Catherine E E Collins has been our minister since 2006. She has been responsible for promoting many new initiatives, including the creation of the St Aidan’s Centre to provide much needed hall facilities for the wider community. She has arranged for choirs, theatre and music groups to perform in church, and following a performance by the Watoto Children’s Choir, she led a trip to their home in Uganda to build a much needed classroom.

Recently, she was instrumental in the choice of New Kirk as the first East of Scotland venue for Heart for Art, a Church of Scotland initiative to promote creativity, self worth and achievement among people with dementia, while providing friendship and support for their carers.

She has also served the wider Church as a Trustee of the Housing & Loan Fund (which provides housing for retired ministers) and as a member of the Ministries Council.

She is currently Convener of the Ministries Council Training Task Group responsible for the training of Ministers, Deacons and Readers across Scotland.
